Helpful Tips when designing your Family Tree
- First, choose a design. Many of our Ketubah designs have tree themed artwork that works well for this concept. However a more modern approach is to choose a design that is more abstract in nature. Both will work beautifully.
- Decide how many names you will want represented on the artwork. Often requested are Family Tree's that list immediate family members only, including grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren.
- When choosing a tree themed design, we can either flow the names into the white spaces between the branches of the tree, or we can flow the names onto the artwork itself. For non tree themed designs, we typically flow the names onto the artwork itself.
- Although there are certainly no rules, it is a symbolic to flow the names of the Matriarch and Patriarch of a family into the roots of a tree design and to flow the rest of the family throughout the branches.
- Decide if there are other design elements, other than family members names, that you would like us to incorporate. Often, we will add in special dates ("50" for Golden Anniversaries), words of poetry, Biblical phrasing, or custom design elements.
- Decide if you would like to have a sentiment or poetic phrase accompany the artwork.
